Figure 1 tracks the per-person resource demand Ecological Footprint and biocapacity in Greece since 1961. Biocapacity varies each year with ecosystem management, agricultural practices (such as fertilizer use and irrigation), ecosystem degradation, and weather, and population size. Footprint varies with consumption and production efficiency.
Country Factsheets for each country provide more methodological details included in the National Footprint Account 2011 Edition. These compare the Ecological Footprint and biocapacity trends between the current and previous editions. Differences between editions emerge due to changes in data and methodology.
